Slave. Christian. Brother in Christ. Onesimus stole from his master and ran away, then had an encounter with the imprisoned Paul…and found Jesus. This is Paul’s plea to Philemon, the slave’s master, to give freedom to his new brother in Christ. Written from prison, Paul writes of freedom, knowing that while he is a prisoner of Rome, his true situation is that he is Captivated by Christ.

This is Palm Sunday, the day that Jesus rode into Jerusalem on a donkey in what is called the Triumphal Entry. But what was so significant about his being proclaimed King by the people? And why a donkey? See how this was a fulfillment of prophecy, and what message he was conveying to the people of Jerusalem, to you, and to me.
