Slave. Christian. Brother in Christ. Onesimus stole from his master and ran away, then had an encounter with the imprisoned Paul…and found Jesus. This is Paul’s plea to Philemon, the slave’s master, to give freedom to his new brother in Christ. Written from prison, Paul writes of freedom, knowing that while he is a prisoner of Rome, his true situation is that he is Captivated by Christ.

What is it that makes us want to throw stones at each other? Probably not literally, but certainly hurling insults and taking shots at one another, assaulting one another in anger and frustration in response to wrong or hurtful actions.
