Slave. Christian. Brother in Christ. Onesimus stole from his master and ran away, then had an encounter with the imprisoned Paul…and found Jesus. This is Paul’s plea to Philemon, the slave’s master, to give freedom to his new brother in Christ. Written from prison, Paul writes of freedom, knowing that while he is a prisoner of Rome, his true situation is that he is Captivated by Christ.

Paul compares our life on in this earth to living in a tent – the tent of our bodies – it's no wonder we can't wait to move into our heavenly dwelling!
